Sometimes everything comes together to make a really memorable weekend, and this was one such occasion. On a sunny Saturday evening the band was on top of their game and with good food and a few drinks from the bar the evening went with a swing.
The conditions for Sunday’s race were very good with enough breeze to make it very exciting at times. We had 11 boats start the race, and the winner was Adam Piggot and Simon Farren sailing Nacra F18 GBR 1688 in a time of 31⁄4 hours, with last year’s winner Simon Northrop and Tom Walker sailing F18 GBR 1581 in second place, and Tornado GBR 11 sailed by John Ready and Oli Egan in third.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of a weekend like this is to see the number of Club members (and non members) prepared to give up their time to make it happen, and obviously enjoying themselves in the process! To mention individuals would not be appropriate but a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved, and to those who supported the Club by coming along to one or both of these events.
